The Short Answer
If you only read one section, read this one.
- Figma: design, prototype and review the interface; build and maintain the design system.
- Webflow: build the production website with a CMS, SEO settings, forms, hosting and an editor for the marketing team.
- Figma Sites: publish simple pages straight from Figma when speed matters more than CMS depth and SEO control.
- Most teams: design in Figma and build in Webflow, using the Figma to Webflow workflow or a developer.

What Figma Sites Changed
Figma Sites launched in beta at Config 2025 and is still listed as beta in Figma Help Center in October 2026. Since launch it has added a collections-based CMS and Code Layers, both in beta (BRIX Templates update log), and Figma documents custom domains for sites on paid plans. For a page that the design team owns end to end, that removes the handoff entirely.
- Test the HTML before you commit: Independent reviews such as Alphonso Labs report that Figma Sites renders deeply nested generic containers. Publish a test page and check headings, landmarks and metadata if the site must rank.
- Check the CMS against your content: A handful of items is fine; a blog, case-study library or careers section needs filtering, templates and editorial workflow.
- Plan who edits: If marketers will publish weekly, decide whether they should work inside a design tool or in a CMS editor.
Which Tool Should Own Your Live Website?
The design tool question is usually settled. The decision that matters is where the live site lives.
Choose Webflow when
the site must rank in search, the marketing team publishes content regularly, you need CMS collections, forms and integrations, or the site will grow beyond a few pages.
Choose Figma Sites when
you need a simple page quickly, the design team will own updates, SEO and CMS needs are light, and beta features are acceptable for the project.
Keep Figma either way when
you need design exploration, prototypes, a shared design system and stakeholder review, wherever the site is built.
What Each Option Costs
Webflow site plans per webflow.com/pricing on October 21, 2026: Starter is free on a webflow.io address; Basic is $15 a month billed yearly for static sites; Premium is $25 a month billed yearly and adds the CMS; Team is $2,500 a month on an annual contract. Figma charges per seat, and what Figma Sites can publish depends on your Figma plan.
- Build cost: designing in Figma and building in Webflow is a separate project cost; see Figma to Webflow cost by scope.
- Running cost: a Webflow site plan for the live site, plus seats for the people who edit or design in each tool.
- Hidden cost: rebuilding a site later because the first platform could not handle CMS, SEO or integrations.
Using Both: The Figma to Webflow Workflow
Design with Auto Layout and components in Figma, then move the approved design into Webflow with the official Figma to Webflow plugin, an MCP-assisted import or a manual build. Finish with CMS connections, responsive QA and launch checks in Webflow.

Figma vs Webflow FAQ
Is Figma or Webflow better?
They do different jobs. Figma is better for exploring, designing and prototyping interfaces. Webflow is better for building, publishing and managing a production website with a CMS and SEO controls. Most website teams use both.
Can Figma Sites replace Webflow?
For a simple page that the design team publishes and updates, it can. For sites that must rank in search, run a content-heavy CMS or connect to marketing tools, Webflow is still more capable. Figma Sites is labeled beta in Figma's Help Center as of October 2026.
Can Webflow replace Figma?
You can design directly in Webflow, and some developers do. Teams usually keep Figma for fast exploration, prototyping, design systems and stakeholder review, then build the approved design in Webflow.
Should designers learn Webflow?
If you design websites, yes. Understanding Webflow's box model, classes, components and CMS makes your Figma files easier to build and helps you design layouts that stay editable after launch.
Is Webflow good for SEO?
Yes. Webflow gives you per-page titles and descriptions, Open Graph settings, 301 redirects, an automatic sitemap and control over the HTML structure. Rankings still depend on content, links and how well the site is built.
How do I move a Figma design into Webflow?
Prepare frames with Auto Layout and use the official Figma to Webflow plugin, or have a developer rebuild the design in Webflow. The tutorial and service pages on this site cover both routes.
